Word!
Located right in the heart of Sydney City and occupying commanding views of the harbour is the Royal Botanical Gardens (RGB). Since 1816 this has been a quiet oasis in the urban sprawl of office buildings that threaten to consume it and best of all… it’s a public park!
On scale and wow factor its up there with Central Park in New York or the Peace Park in Cork 🙂
Located near the north-west of the park is the home of the Governor of New South Wales, the aptly named Government House. In another gesture of how great this country is, you can visit the house and join a tour.
We have spent quite a few lazy sunny days walking around the park and plan to come back to see the fireworks at Hogmanay!
For now here are a selection of photos from our visits including some really nice flowers!
