The Dark Fort Rises!!

Crowd: Deshi basara! Deshi basara!
Bruce Wayne: What does that mean?
Prisoner: Rise.

Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway has led Christian Bale’s Batman into a trap in the sewer system of Gotham City.

A fight between him and the antagonist Bane(played by Tom Hardy),ensues and it become pretty clear that Batman is out of his depth and ends up taking a serious beating.

This is from halfway through the film “The Dark Knight Rises”, the third and final instalment of Christopher Nolans unique and breathtaking view of the Batman franchise.

After this scene there’s a major detour to India, to Jodhpur, the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, in the northwest of the subcontinent.

The subterranean prison in which Wayne is held captive was built at Cardington in the UK, but on finally escaping, he finds himself in front of the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort, a vast 15th century Hindu fort crowning a perpendicular cliff, four hundred feet above the sky line of Jodhpur.

Filming at the fort!

Filming at the fort!

This is the same fort that was featured in our post “These Boots Are Made For Walking” and which is probably one of the most underrated things to see in India.

This fort is stunning and that it was chosen to be the backdrop of the scene of redemption for Bruce Wayne is quite important for any movie buff!
