Three Capes Track Day 3
In January 2020, we embarked on a treacherous journey to explore Cape Pillar, encountering everything from misty mornings with screeching cockatoos to a snake-infested boardwalk. As we approached the Blade and Tasman Island’s desolate lighthouse, we pondered the island’s tragic history. The landscape also revealed its rich Aboriginal and colonial past. Despite the hardships, we pressed on, eager for our next adventure at Retakunna. Who knew what tomorrow would bring?
Three Capes Track Day 2
January 2020 We awoke to our first full day of the Three Capes Track with a mission. Get to the second hut as quickly as possible. It was bushfire season and the fire warnings were high this day. The next boat load of walkers would not be able to join the walk and we had […]

Opened in 2000, after six years of construction the Grand Mosque really deserves it’s title. It occupies the same square meterage of nearly 59 football pitches (416000 sq metres), contains over 300,000 […]
Oman: What a stopover!
Our trip to Europe involved flying partly with Oman Air. Normally we would transit via the UAE or Qatar so we took this opportunity to add in a small stopover in Muscat as part of this trip. A new country for both of us bringing our totals up to 33 for John and 38 for […]
Lake Como
After spending sometime exploring the town of Como – it was time to jump on a boat and head up the lake. After Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore this is Italy’s third largest lake, Europe’s deepest outside of Norway and with a distinct inverse ‘Y’ shape provides a varied backdrop of mountains, shore-lined villages, beautiful […]
